Terms of access and use, ownership, licences and liability applicable to this portal and to the applications integrated into its institutional framework.
1. General terms of use
Access to and use of this portal imply full acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in this legal information. The iArtHis_LAB research group, affiliated with the Department of Art History at the Universidad de Málaga, reserves the right to amend or update these terms at any time; users are therefore advised to review them periodically.
Users undertake to make proper use of the portal and of the content or services it provides. They must refrain from using them for unlawful activities, activities contrary to good faith or public order, or the dissemination of offensive or discriminatory content or content that infringes fundamental rights. These terms apply to the portal and to all applications developed and integrated within its institutional framework.
2. Ownership and responsibility
This open-access portal was developed by the iArtHis_LAB research group, affiliated with the Department of Art History at the Universidad de Málaga, in order to support research in Digital Art History. It is maintained within the University’s institutional and educational framework.

3. Intellectual and industrial property
All content, graphic design, source code, interfaces and materials available through the portal are protected by Spanish and international intellectual and industrial property law. Unless expressly stated otherwise, ownership belongs to the Universidad de Málaga or to members of the iArtHis_LAB research group.
Users must respect the rights recognised by law and refrain from any unauthorised use, reproduction, distribution or transformation of the content.
4. Licences
4.1 Source code
The portal’s source code is distributed under the MIT License, which permits use, copying, modification and redistribution, provided that the licence notice and the corresponding copyright notices are retained. Integrated applications may state a separate specific licence.
4.2 Content and data
Unless a resource expressly states a different licence, textual, visual and database content is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This means that:
- The authorship and original source must be acknowledged (iArtHis_LAB / Universidad de Málaga).
- Commercial use of the materials is not permitted.
- Derivative works must be distributed under the same licence.

5. Disclaimer
The iArtHis_LAB research group and the Universidad de Málaga do not guarantee that access to or content within the portal will be entirely free from errors, although they undertake to address issues and maintain the service with due diligence.
Access to and use of the portal are the user’s sole responsibility. Neither the research group nor the University shall be liable for direct or indirect loss or damage arising from improper use of the information or services provided through the platform.

This legal information is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from access to or use of the portal shall be expressly submitted to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Málaga, Spain.

The iArtHis_LAB research group reserves the right to amend these terms in order to reflect regulatory changes or technological developments affecting the project. Updates take effect when they are published on this page.
